“The Magic of a Moment”

Surprised by the iridescent stained-glass wings that hovered into view while I was photographing wild chicory on our land, my eyes and soul were treated to the tiniest of prisms of colored light against my favorite periwinkle color in the world! How lucky was I to be there at that very moment, connected with this tiny being and vibrant medicinal plant? What a gift to have eyes and a lens to immortalize fleeting experiences!

Printed onto paper and layered with molten beeswax and damar resin, fused repeatedly between a multitude of layers, this piece was meticulously carved and pigmented end-to-end. This piece is mounted onto a birch panel and placed within a custom-built frame, ready to hang on your wall.
