Inspired by the process of metamorphosis— a process that repeats itself many times throughout our lives—this collection brings a contemplative space in which to reflect on the vibrance and diversity in our lives. Each butterfly or moth wing was photographed, layered, and fused repeatedly with encaustic medium, cut to shape, carved, sculpted, and imaginatively pigmented end-to-end. Each wing and shape reflects a different emotional state. "Abundance" celebrates the life force present in each of us as we are challenged to grow as individuals, families, communities, and with the wider world.
