Macro photography of eucalyptus bark in Australia is the foundation for this sculpture, which was printed onto fabric and layered and fused between every layer before being cut to shape, sculpted, pigmented end-to-end, and sewn into the birch panel. Once on the panel, I could not ignore the many faces and shapes that jumped out at me, much like images in changing cloud formations. I felt such delight in bringing them to life and engagement with one another in the narrative of each piece in this series. May it elicit joy, playfulness, and wonder as you imagine their stories!
