"Interconnected"
Encaustic mixed media, ((14 x 14 x 1.75 in), wall hung
Materials: beeswax, damar resin, powdered pigment, photograph of my original watercolor, birch panel
Creating a series of daily watercolors and reflections that accompanied each became a daily meditation for me. Sharing them with others was a rich experience that brought connection across the waters and land. We are broadened and supported when we make bonds with one another and share our strengths, as well as our vulnerabilities. This watercolor circle is a reminder of this interconnection.
One of my original watercolor circles was printed onto archival paper and layered with wax, fused between layers, pigmented, and held by encaustic white paint on the background of the gallery panel.
