Upon completing the pigmentation, carving, and sculpting of the large butterfly on my table, I felt a strong pull to separate the singular butterfly into two. Pondering the interchange that could exist between two separate beings, I decisively took my razor blade and cut through the textile and waxed layers as I held my breath, as there would be no going back. As I brought them into relation with one another, I reflected on the power of collaboration and how others can sometimes see us more clearly than we see ourselves. The ongoing dialogue between these separate, but united beings continues to elicit insight and further pondering…
