It’s a HAPPY Friday the 13th!
Stepping into the new…
“Stories We Tell” opens today at the Pam Miller Downtown Art Center’s City Gallery in Lexington, Kentucky!
I am honored to join fellow artists from our Walton and Main Studios—
Linda Fugate-Blumer, Constance Grayson, Honora Jacob, and Cathy Vigor.
Each of us expresses a unique narrative through fiber, textile, paint, and encaustic in this diverse exhibition. Working alongside my fellow studio mates these last two years has been a meaningful experience, and I am proud to show alongside each of these strong women artists!
The exhibit runs from February 13- April 4, with Gallery Hop on March 20, from 5-8p.
I would love to see you there if you can make it, so please pop it on your calendar— spring surely will have sprung by then!
(This image does not begin to represent the height of the ladder that had to be climbed to suspend this piece, Sacred Incubation (alternate images, below)— kudos to the courage of Sydney Willis, who braved the climb as we supported (and breathed for her!) from below!) Special thanks to Sydney and Claire Thompson of Pam Miller Downtown Art Center for installing this wide variety of work!

I found myself quite reflective as I carefully selected work that encompasses my journey of art-making and healing, and the forward momentum as I move into this next chapter of my life.

(These are just two sneak peeks of some of my work included in the show— come and see the rest from the other artists and me!)
And if you are local, you know full well the utter relief to not be stepping out of your doors into this icescape (magical as it is in a photograph!) What sweet relief to have the ice almost melted!!
As we return to more humane weather as this exhibit launches, I could not be happier to fully commit to my art career and to continue to build my expressive healing arts private practice. I will share more on this soon :).
Sky view as I left our studios the other night, stepping into the golden light of the setting sun and a warmth as welcome as any beach.
As I wrap up this note, please know that my gratitude for you being here is deeply felt. We need each other more than ever as we navigate these times that words can’t encompass.
Certainly, the taking of life through violence in our world is a stark reminder that every life is sacred, and that we contribute to the whole by the individual lives we lead, in however large or small our circles we may inhabit.
I send love and light to each of you and hope you are finding connection, support, and hope wherever you can find and create it.
