It’s Time to Connect in Person!
Yay! It’s time for the 49th annual Woodland Art Fair!
Come see me this weekend!
August 16, 10a-6p and August 17, 10-5p
I can’t wait to join the other 178 artists at the 49th annual Woodland Art Fair in Lexington, KY. I am looking forward to reconnecting with new artist friends and visitors from last year, as well as to meeting new folks and collectors!
It is always a joy to come out of the solitary nature of making to share my work with others. Woodland is a gorgeous park and Lexington Art League does a wonderful job of supporting the artists and patrons!
Snips of new work— YAY!! (mini encaustic carvings, above)
“Let the Wind Carry You”, (15 x 29 x 2.5 inches), 2025
“The Magic of a Moment”, (18 3/8 x 24 4/8 inches, framed with custom hickory frame made by local artist, Geoff Earl)
Also new: greeting cards and giclée prints — professionally printed on stunning archival-quality art paper for the highest detail and longevity. Making my art widely accessible has been long in the works, and I’m so excited to finally offer these to you!(a small sampling from my website, below :))
OTHER NEWS…
Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands was wonderful!
I met so many wonderful artists during this intensive 4-day market in Asheville, NC. Huge thanks to the Southern Highland Craft Guild for the tremendous work to get this market to return just months after Helene caused such utter devastation in this beautiful state.
I soaked up many long conversations with art and nature lovers who shared about their lives, asked such great questions about my process and the meaning in my work, and with new collectors who brought my artwork into their sacred abodes! It is always quite moving when someone connects with my work enough to bring it into their lives… 💚
The lovely group of surrounding artists kept each other uplifted and encouraged through the arduous 12-hour setup, the lengthy four days of market, and the (required) miraculously speedy breakdown (a new record set, thanks to my dear artist friend, Laura Poulette and her husband, Strider, who drove over five hours to help me!!). Despite being underground for 5 days straight, the sun shone through the many acts of love, kindness, and connection! And I made it safely home, driving this 15-foot behemoth of a truck—gratitude all around…
I am delighted to have several commissions and a hopeful workshop in the works, and many new folks who have signed up to keep connected on my art and life— WELCOME to this space if you are new here! It is one of the most meaningful parts of being at a market— making new relationships! 🥰
AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST…
Life on our farm continues, yet profound changes unfold by the day… My oldest son moved out of state with his girlfriend last week, and my youngest (who just turned 18— big milestone!) leaves for college today!
I love these humans more than words can say and can’t wait to see what new adventures and goodness come their way as they venture out into the world. As always, mama hearts know their wee ones will fly from the nest and that they will always be with us, whether near or far. They continue to teach me some of the deepest life lessons and to inspire me as they spread their wings. Please send good thoughts their way for all that is yet to come! 🦋
Thank you for being here, sharing your precious time with me. I send you love and light and hope you are finding peace, connection, and meaning during these challenging times…
LOVE, MICHELLE ❤️
