Endless inspiration from my strong mother's ability to create beauty and hope is the foundation of this encaustic carving. When my mother moved her young family of eight children following the sudden loss of my father, she planted two forsythia bushes on either side of the driveway, declaring that they would greet us with joyful color every time we drove in and out of our driveway, sending us out and welcoming us home. Mama always found glimmers and practiced mindfulness during challenges, a gift I will always deeply value. May this burst of color bring renewed energy to your spirits.
Printed onto archival paper and layered with molten encaustic medium, fused repeatedly between layers, meticulously carved and pigmented end-to-end, this piece was mounted onto a birch panel, ready to hang on your wall.
